Deltabond EPFC

Epoxy bonding agent for fresh concrete

DESCRIPTION

Deltabond EPFC is a two component epoxy paste based on solvent free epoxy resin and hardener. It is used for bonding of new concrete to old concrete and as a bonding agent for bricks and steel components. It gives excellent bonding properties to freshly mixed concrete or mortars, bricks, tiles, etc.

USES

For bonding new cementitious materials to existing cementitious surfaces. For use on horizontal surfaces and on vertical surfaces where mortar on concrete can be supported by formwork.

ADVANTAGES

  • Bonding fresh concrete to cured concrete and other surfaces.
  • Bonding construction materials to dry and damp concrete surfaces.
  • High physical strengths.
  • Ideal working time.

INSTRUCTION FOR USE

Surface Preparation

The surface must be thoroughly cleaned and prepared. Remove all loose particles, dirt, dust, laitance, and mould release agent, curing compounds, oils, grease, floor hardeners and any waterproofing materials for best results. Remove laitance, dirt and dust by mechanical scarification such as wire brushing, scrapping, scabling or grit blasting. Clean the dust by pressurized air or by washing with water. Oil and grease should be removed by degreasing with solvents like turpentine of thiners. Visible signs of mould growth should be removed and treated with a fungicidal solutions. New concrete must be cured completely.

Application

Deltabond EPFC may be applied by brush, roller, trowel, or by hand with rubber gloves. Overlay of concrete/mortar has to be placed on Deltabond EPFC when it is tacky. In case Deltabond EPFC has dried, apply second coat before placing the fresh concrete/mortar.

Mixing

Mix 1.4 parts of Component A and 1 part of Component B. Mix for 3 minutes or until get uniform colour and consistency of the mixed material achieved. Mix only the amount that may be applied within the given pot life of the batch.

Dosage

Coverage of Deltabond EPFC is 0,3 – 0,8 kg/m2 depending on substrate condition.

Deltaform Fra Emulsion

Water Based Form Release Agent

DESCRIPTION

Deltaform FRA Emulsion is a specially concentrate blend of mineral oils and selected additive. It is supplied as a low viscosity, pale straw colored liquid which turns white when diluted with water to produce a chemical release agent.

USES

  • For easy and efficient stripping of formwork
  • For high quality, fair faced and stain-free concrete

ADVANTAGES

  • Ensure easy release, reducing damage and improving efficiency of production
  • Non-staining and suitable for concrete containing off-white cement
  • Produce high quality fair-faced finish concrete
  • Reduce opportunity of damage to formwork, extending usable life
  • Make cleaning of formwork before re-use very easy
  • Can be use on all types of moulds with smooth and non-porous surface
  • Concentrate form, reduced storage and transport costs
  • Waterbased

PROPERTIES

Deltaform FRA Emulsion must be diluted with water before use

PREPARATION

Dilution

First dilute Deltaform FRA Emulsion concentrate with water by weigth (ratio of 1:5) using a clean container and stir thoroughly until the even. The emulsion must be stirred again before use and may require good stirring if stored over 5 days.

Mould Preparation

All new or used moulds must be clean and free from rust, old concrete, dirt, cement laitance, old mould oil and other contamination. High quality Plywood (over 6 mm thickness) with smooth surface will give superior results and much extended re-use if first coated with Deltaform FRA Emulsion.

Application

Deltaform FRA Emulsion can be brushed or sprayed on to the surface. Only a very thin film of Deltafrom FRA Emulsion should be applied and allow to dry. Excess material could lead to surface dusting of the concrete. A single uniform coat can be applied prior to pouring the concrete into the formwork.

Drying Time

It is essential that Deltaform FRA Emulsion is thoroughly dry before placing concrete. Otherwise, being an emulsion, its performance may be impaired. In condition of high humidity drying times will be much longer than in warm dry condition. Deltaform FRA Emulsion is not to be used in moulds and left outside. The product will emulsify and wash off from the moulds.

After Stripping or Demoulding

Demoulding can be carried out in a usual practice and no special precaution is needed. After use the formwork or mould should be brushed or wiped clean of any excess dust. The use of Deltaform FRA Emulsion minimizes the amount of time and effort required for this process.

Before Re-Use

The cleaned formwork surface must be re-coated with Deltaform FRA Emulsion before use, according to the usual procedure.

Coverage Rate

Depending on the porosity and texture of the mould surface, typical coverage rates of 10 to 20 m2/litre of diluted material will be obtainable.

Packaging

Deltaform FRA Emulsion available in 30 and 200 Liter.

Storage

Deltaform FRA Emulsion has a minimum shelf life of 12 month when stored in the original unopened containers under standard warehouse conditions.

PRECAUTIONS

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Deltaform FRA Emulsion contains hydrocarbon oils and should be treated as potentially harmful as there is a possible risk of irreversible effects in contact with skin. Deltaform FRA Emulsion should not be swallowed or allowed to come into contact with skin and eyes. Avoid breathing vapors and ensure adequate ventilation is available. Wear gloves and suitable eye/ face protection. If it comes in contact with skin, rinse immediately with soap and water–do not use solvent. In case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If swallowed seek medical attention immediately–do not induce vomiting. For further information consult the Material Safety Data Sheet available for this product.

CLEANING AND DISPOSAL

Spillages of Deltaform FRA Emulsion should be absorbed onto sand, earth or vermiculite and transferred to suitable containers. Contaminated areas will become slippery. The disposal of excess or waste material should be carried out in accordance with local legislation under the guidance of the local waste regulatory authority.

FIRE

Deltaform FRA Emulsion, before dilution is Flammable. Don’t expose to naked flames or other sources of Ignition. Flash point is 610C
